Teach 15 semester credit hours per long semester as assigned; Collaborate with colleagues and supervisors with all programs in Education division; committee work as assigned; professional development as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Education or a related field
- Three years of experience in classroom instruction (EC-12)
- Knowledge of current technology tools and resources
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Knowledge of instructional disciplines under supervision
- Knowledge and understanding of pedagogy and professional development standards/domains, Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS), Prekindergarten Curriculum Guidelines (PKG), and curriculum development
Preferred Qualifications
- Five years or more of experience in classroom instruction and instructional leadership (EC-12)
- Current Texas Teacher Certification
- Coursework/experience in special populations
- Knowledge and understanding of program and course assessment
- Familiar with student and academic support services
- College teaching experience and online delivery systems
Essential Functions
- Teach 15 semester credit hours per long semester as assigned
- Organize and monitor field experiences
- Recruit, advise, and support students
- Assist in the development of course schedules
- Ensure compliance with requirements of state agencies and accrediting bodies, as applicable
- Perform all functions of a full-time faculty member
- Serve on college and divisional committees as assigned
- Assist with the Education Student Organization
- Fulfill all faculty roles and responsibilities as outlined in Midland College Policies and Administrative Regulations as published in the Employee and Faculty Handbooks
- Other duties as assigned
